1:00-4:30pm at Hidden Valley
A day filled with balloon-themed fun!  Including art, games, songs, and a scavenger hunt.  It’ll blow you away! Dress for play!  Wear durable, totally enclosed shoes for a scavenger hunt.  Make sure to wear layered clothes for the weather. Only $4.00 per girl!  Cost includes supplies, entertainment, refreshments, and a custom patch!

Join us for a hiking tour of the camp, with information on how to use the various areas. We'll discuss opening locks, checking out equipment and tents, choosing a campsite, use of the latrines and composting toilet, lighting the furnaces, and whatever else you'd like to know!  Come prepared to walk around camp.

September 23 • 2-5pm • 50th Anniversary at Hidden Valley
Come celebrate Hidden Valley's 50th Birthday Party and the 10th year of Friends of Hidden Valley. Everyone's invite! There will be hands-on demonstrations, prize drawings, wetland exploration, cool exhibits. Scouts can fullfil numerous try-it and badge requirements.

Cabin and Garden Area Cleanup. Help us prepare the camp for Hidden Valley's 50th Birthday Party and the 10th year of Friends of Hidden Valley (event on Sept. 23).
September 9 • 1:00pm • KU Band Day
Come join the parade and march in front of a participating high school band from Kansas or MIssouri. Parade starts at the Eldridge Hotel and ends at South Park. Parade is usually over by 2pm. Line numbers (to determine parade order) will be distributed starting at 12:15pm. First nubmers will go to Band Day Volunteers. One number per troop please. Troops will march togeher in one or two groups and may be accommpanied by leaders/parents. Scouts must wear some part or all of the Girl Scout Uniform. Meet at the Eldridge Hotel, 7th & Massachusetts. Parade starts at 1:30pm.
June 2006 • Day Camp
There were 2 sessions of Day Camp this year, June 19-23 and 26-30 with a total of 365 campers. Special thanks to the 22 unit leaders, 140 adult volunteers, 43 aides, and 3 camp directors who made it happen. We couldn't do it without you.

May 28, 2005 • Alfred Bromelsick Graveside Memorial (10am)
Each year Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and 4-H members come together at Mr. Bromelsick's gravesite at Oak Hill Cemetary (east 15th St.) as requested by his trust. This is usually a very simple service that celebrates Mr. Bromelsick's life and his generous gifts to the youth of our community. It is held rain or shine. At the end of the 20 minute (or so) service everyone is invited to place flowers from their garden on his grave.

Several troops participated in streambank stabilization projects at Brookside and Sumac campsites pounding dozens of willow cuttings into the ground along with bareroot plantings of American Plum and cordgrass plugs in an effort to stem further erosion at these sites. This was just one the activities at Spring Fling designed to help girl scouts of all level earn their Water Drop Patch.
